WoodsEdge Annual Food Drive Set To Begin

The Holiday season is about kindness, good will and helping those who are less fortunate. This year we plan to continue our tradition of generosity. Starting in late November, WoodsEdge will hold our annual drive for local organizations that provide for those in need. Once the holiday decorations go up in the community, you will find donation boxes inside the WoodsEdge Clubhouse. This year’s featured organizations are the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, The Corning Food Pantry, and The Arctic League.

The Chemung County Humane Society is a private, non-profit humane organization that is devoted to the care of stray, homeless, abused and abandoned animals in our area. You can visit their website at www.chemungspca.org. On their website you will find a list of items that are greatly needed by this organization. We will also post a list of needed items in the December WoodsEdge newsletter.

The Corning Food Pantry is a non-profit organization that provides food items to those in need. They accept monetary donations, non-perishable food items and personal care items, adult and children’s books, clothing, blankets and volunteers. You can learn more about this organization by visiting their website at www.corningfoodpantry.com.

The Arctic League is a local organization that has handed out toys to less fortunate children in our community for 97 years. In the early hours of Christmas morning, volunteers deliver bags of toys to homes of needy children. The Arctic League accepts new, packaged toys and monetary donations. You can visit their website at www.arcticleague.com.

Last year we had a fantastic outpouring of generosity. This year we hope to top that. Please consider picking up an extra item when shopping and drop it off in one of our donation boxes.
